The following analytical methodologies are currently available in the laboratory for quantitative and qualitative analysis of water, wastewater and sludge samples:
  • Multiple-Tube Fermentation-Most Probable Number
  • Membrane Filtration Techniques
  • Presence/Absence (Colilert )
  • Enzyme-Substrate Method for Enterococci (Enterolert)
  • Heterotrophic Plate Counts
  • Pour Plate Methods
  • Quantitative PCR analysis of environmental samples following sample enrichment when applicable
  • PCR analysis (for selected pathogens) for species determination on presumptive positive samples obtained from presence/absence determination, following DNA purification
Cel Analytical follows a rigid Quality Assurance/Quality Control program and ensures analysis conducted in its laboratory is:
  • Scientifically accurate and reliable
  • In compliance with acceptable quality assurance and quality control guidelines for microbiology laboratories as described in the EPA Manual for The Certification of Laboratories Analyzing Drinking Water, 4 th edition 1997; Standard Methods for Examination of Water and Waste Water, 20 th Edition; American Public Health Association; EPA-QA/QC Guidelines for laboratory performing PCR analysis, October 2004
  • Fulfilling the requirements of the State and Federal regulations such as Safe Drinking Water Act, Total coliform Rule [40 CFR 141.21(f)] and Surface Water Treatment Rule [40 CFR 141.74(a)]
