Chain of Custody
Sampling dates, time samples and sample source must be printed on a chain of custody form. If holding times are exceeded, results are invalid for compliance purposes. Please notify if analysis is still required on the chain of custody.

Sample Shipping
All samples must be contained in an ice chest and maintained at Cool 4ºC when possible during the transport to the laboratory. Sample exceeding the holding times and lacking proper documentations may be rejected by the laboratory.
Turn Around Times
Total coliform-Presence/Absence (Colilert) and enterococci (Enterolert) results can be given in 24 hours.
Bacterial quantitation (Total Coliform/Fecal coliform, Fecal streptococcus/enterococcus) results will take 6-10 days.
Identification of E.coli, Salmonella, Aeromonas, Pseudomonas can be performed on positive samples obtained from presence/absence coliforms via PCR-24 hr or through biochemical screening for an additional 3 days. |
